About Marion
 | Marion Pribbenow is a native of the south, born and raised in central Florida. After attending the University of North Carolina, she settled in Alabama where she met and married Bert Pribbenow. They were soon the proud parents of three young sons and a beautiful daughter. In 1989, Bert lost his battle with cancer and Marion was left with four children under the age of eight. She bought a small farm in Cropwell, Alabama where she remains today. Through the following years, amidst children, carpools, cows, and dachshunds, she has worked in a variety of artistic fields resulting in her home and farm becoming a living artwork in and of itself. The outlets she has used to express her artistic creativity are as unique as the artworks themselves; from carefully placed and planned junk sculptures that transform their natural settings into magical playgrounds, to textile work, hand painted fabrics, colorful bench murals and work in interior design.
The simple gift of an old kiln in 2002 began her love of ceramics and was the beginning of The Little Red Barn and Marion Pribbenow Designs. These companies became a perfect outlet for her use of bright colors, unique script, and whimsical design. The excitement of seeing her ideas come to life fresh from the kiln is something she looks forward to everyday.
Setting her designs apart are her trademark, hand painted style, Vanity dots, and each piece being hand signed by the artist herself. From whimsical, bright holiday platters to fun, personalized dinnerware and children’s products, Marion Pribbenow Designs continues to deliver inventive and fun products that you will not be able to find anywhere else. Marion Pribbenow Designs product was available in three Alabama retail stores in 2004, eight in 2005, and following the Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings market in 2006, her product is now available in about 75 stores throughout the Southeast (from New York to Arizona). Plans for 2007 include expansion west of the Mississippi.
